چکیده
• Quantitatively studied K-Capture by kaolin/coal fly ash at dust-firing conditions. K-capture reaction biomass combustion and K-salt feeding conditions was compared. Deposit probe inserted into reactor lively monitored deposit formation. Deposition propensity quantitatively with without additive addition. The deposition behavior when firing different (pulverized wheat straw, wood, bark, leaves), additives (kaolin coal ash) investigated through experiments in the DTU (Technical University of Denmark) entrained flow (EFR). In terms formation, K- Cl-rich Danish straw proved to be most problematic fuel, while milled wood pellets, leaves, bark had significantly lower propensities. Kaolin two types (Al- Si-rich) were used as additives, results showed that a fuel-K/additive-Al molar ratio 1.0, reduced. However, pellets did not change addition additives. ICP-elemental analysis deposits samples water-soluble K content reduced for both pellet combustion. comparison data from previous experiments, where pure reacted solid kaolin captured KOH more effectively than real For ash, an opposite tendency observed, i.e., it under

Mercury adsorption characteristics of HBr-modified fly ash in an entrained-flow reactor.
In this study, the mercury adsorption characteristics of HBr-modified fly ash in an entrained-flow reactor were investigated through thermal decomposition methods. The results show that the mercury adsorption performance of the HBr-modified fly ash was enhanced significantly. The mercury species adsorbed by unmodified fly ash were HgCl2, HgS and HgO. The mercury adsorbed by HBr-modified fly ash...
متن کاملEffect of oxy-fuel combustion with steam and biomass addition on coal burnout in an entrained flow reactor
The coal burnout of a semi-anthracite was studied under oxy-firing conditions in an entrained flow reactor. The results obtained under oxy-fuel conditions were compared with those attained in air. The replacement of CO2 by 10 and 20% of steam in the oxyfuel combustion atmospheres was also evaluated in order to study the wet recirculation of flue gas. The results showed a decrease on coal burnou...
متن کاملOverview of Coal Ash Deposition in Boilers
The management of coal ash in utility boilers continues to be one of the most important fuel property considerations in the design and operation of commercial boilers. The behavior of mineral matter in coal can significantly influence furnace sizing, heat transfer surface placement, and convection pass tube spacing. Ironically, many of the more reactive, low rank U. S. coals must have larger fu...
متن کاملOptimizing and Characterizing Geopolymers from Ternary Blend of Philippine Coal Fly Ash, Coal Bottom Ash and Rice Hull Ash
Geopolymers are inorganic polymers formed from the alkaline activation of amorphous alumino-silicate materials resulting in a three-dimensional polymeric network. As a class of materials, it is seen to have the potential of replacing ordinary Portland cement (OPC), which for more than a hundred years has been the binder of choice for structural and building applications. Geopolymers have emerge...
متن کاملThe respiratory toxicity of coal fly ash
The aim of this study was to compare the relative respiratory toxicity of CFA samples obtained from three Chinese coal-burning power stations to CFA obtained from a UK coal-burning power station; both bulk and respirable PM10 samples were tested. In order to elucidate CFA toxicity, a multi-disciplinary approach was taken, thereby considering geochemical aspects of the fly ash as well as biochem...
